Device Information Collection

For mobile app users, we collect device identifiers and information to enhance security and prevent fraud:

  • Device Identifier: Unique device ID (Android ID or iOS IDFV) for fraud prevention and rate limiting
  • Device Model: Phone/tablet model and manufacturer
  • Operating System: OS version (Android/iOS version number)
  • Platform Type & Push Token: Whether using Android, iOS, or web browser, plus Firebase Cloud Messaging token when you opt in to notifications

Why we collect this: Device identifiers help us prevent fraudulent account creation, protect against abuse, implement rate limiting, and detect suspicious activity. This information is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking, and is only shared with Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivery.

Automatic Error Logging & Diagnostics

To improve service quality and troubleshoot issues, we automatically collect error and crash reports when the app malfunctions:

  • Error Messages: Technical error descriptions and stack traces
  • Device Context: Device model, OS version, app version, platform type
  • User Identifier: Your user ID (to help us diagnose account-specific issues)
  • App State: Page/screen where error occurred, user actions leading to error

What we DON'T collect: We automatically filter out sensitive information from error logs, including passwords, authentication tokens, birth details, user questions, answers, and payment information. Error logs are retained for 30 days only and processed by Sentry (our error tracking service). See their privacy policy at sentry.io/privacy.

Payment Information

  • Billing Details: Payment method, transaction history, credit purchases
  • Note: Payment processing is handled by platform billing providers such as Google Play Billing or the Apple App Store. We never store your complete card or UPI credentials.

3. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

Zodia integrates with several third-party services that may collect, process, or store your data:

Payment Processing

  • Google Play Billing: Handles Android app purchases and subscription management
  • Apple App Store: Manages iOS app purchases and subscription billing
  • Other Platform Partners: We may use additional vetted payment facilitators for regional offerings; they never receive full birth chart data.

Data Shared: Transaction amounts, user IDs, purchase details (payment card details are encrypted and not accessible to us)

Communication Services

  • MSG91: Sends email notifications, OTP verification, and service updates
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Delivers push notifications to approved devices

Data Shared: Email addresses, device tokens, notification preferences

Location Services

  • Google Places API: Provides location search and place data for birth place selection

Data Shared: Location search queries, selected place coordinates

Infrastructure & Analytics

  • PostgreSQL & Managed Cloud: Database storage and infrastructure hosting
  • CDN Services: Content delivery and performance optimization
  • Google Analytics & Firebase Analytics: Usage analytics and app performance monitoring
  • Sentry: Error tracking and crash reporting for troubleshooting

Data Shared: Encrypted user data stored in secure databases; aggregated analytics data shared with Google and Firebase; anonymized error logs, device info, and user IDs shared with Sentry (30-day retention, sensitive data redacted)
